Job: Berks College, Penn State – History and Philosophy of Sport and Exercise

The Berks College of the Pennsylvania State University in Reading, PA, invites applicants for two tenure line positions in our Kinesiology program starting Fall 2015. RESPONSIBILITIES

The Biomechanics and Motor Control candidate will teach classes in Functional Human Anatomy, Neurobiology, Biomechanics, research methods, or other (400 level) courses, as needed. The resultant hire will be the candidate that best fits one of these blocks of classes for the Kinesiology program.

The ideal History and Philosophy of Sport and Exercise candidate will teach classes consisting of Physical Activity: Historical and Cultural, Meaning, Ethics and Movement, and at least one 400 level class in their field of expertise.

Successful candidates will be team players willing to work together to ensure student learning and enhance the profession through the publication of scholarly work in refereed journals and scholarly presentations. Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to continually develop as an educator and researcher are important qualifications. Service to the college and community is also expected.

QUALIFICATIONS

A terminal degree in one of the following Kinesiology sub-disciplines is required: Anatomy, Neurobiology, Motor Control, or Biomechanics

AND

History and Philosophy of Sport and Exercise.
